Frequently Asked Questions
Are you insured?
Yes, I am insured with Protectivity Insurance.
Do you board in your own home?
No, I do not. I go to clients houses to be able to continue with pets who have specific routines, while also being able to walk any dogs present on their usual route. It allows the pet to freely express themselves how they typically would.
Is the sitter the same every time?
Yes. I run this business alone. I will be the person you see at the meet and greet, and I will be the only person entering/leaving your house when coming to sit for you, or walk a dog.
When you are Pet Sitting for a long period, do we need to provide you with food?
Nope! I will provide my own food for myself for the entirety of the stay.
How do you keep in touch with us while we are away?
I am happy to send updates as well as pictures and videos of your pets to keep you in the loop of everything while you are away. These can be done via text message, Facebook messenger (if you contacted me via there, and wish to use that) or via email. If you are hesitant and worried about your beloved pet and wish to see a picture of them curled up on the sofa, don't hesitate to ask. I will do everything in my power to ease any anxiety you may have.
What happens during the Meet and Greet?
The Meet and Greet is a way for you and I to meet, enabling you to ask any questions that you may need answering, as well as to allow me to meet your pet/pets that I will be caring for or walking. You will also be able to go over any specific routines, show me the locations of food, leads etc, and anything else you may deem as necessary or important.
What type of animal feed are you comfortable with?
I will happily feed your pet whatever food that you leave for them, and that includes raw food. I am not squeamish and will happily pick up a raw chicken foot from your dog freezer to give as a snack. This also includes feeding other animals, like snakes, with frozen meals - as long as you provide me with the correct equipment to do so.
What if my pet needs medication?
I will gladly medicate your pets, as long as I am provided with the correct instructions, dosages and enough medication to do so. I am comfortable with any forms of medication - I have worked with oral medication as well as injections, such as insulin for diabetic pets.
Do you just pet sit cats and dogs?
I have plenty of experience when it comes to feeding, handling and caring for a variety of animals. I am comfortable with cats, dogs of all sizes, rodents (hamsters, gerbils, degus, rats etc.) small mammals (guinea pigs, rabbits), exotic reptiles and snakes, as well as indoor birds (parakeets, cockatoos, parrots) and outdoor birds (ducks, chickens etc.)

I do not look after any horses, or farm animals like goats or sheep.
Would it be possible for my plants to be watered while I am away?
Absolutely! I'm more than happy to carry out small chores around your house while you are away. I will water plants, bring in mail, ensure the correct bins go out when needed, and anything else that you may request during the meet and greet. Bed sheets that have been slept in will also be stripped, and can be washed, if you wish for me to do so.
Can I provide you with a list of routines or plans to follow?
Yes you can. If your pet has a specific day to day routine that must be kept to, you are more than welcome to jot it down in a notebook, or on the pet care sheet from the meet and greet. These routines or plans can be related to the pet itself, or the house. (ie. open/close curtains at certain points, turn off/on heating at certain points etc.)
Do I need to get a key cut?
That is up to you if you need to make a copy, or have enough spares. With sitting, I will need to be given a key for both back and front doors to ensure they are locked for times where I may be leaving the property to walk your pet, if that is asked of me.
